This album is an audio documentary that follows the creative processes of a variety of young Canadian artists.
This project is to be a real, live, ongoing documentary of young artists in practice. This being said, the documentary is unscripted and uncut. Notice that some recordings may be explicit for this reason.
All tracks have been recorded using a Philips Voice Tracer lecture recorder. Some recordings have been published with "no purchase necessary." This is to avoid any copyright issues that may arise due to audio sampling or background music in the recordings.
The audio tracks in this documentary include dates. Keep in mind, this is not the actual date of the recording in most cases, it is the date that I transferred the batch of recordings to my digital archive.
Upon download or purchase of the full album, you will receive written commentary that compliments the audio documentary. This will contain all sorts of neat information about each tracks, like the instruments and equipment used, artistic progress and ideas, information about events surrounding each track (to put the tracks into context), and experimental techniques.
I really hope this documentary can be of use and inspiration to other artists. Maybe it will serve as a tool for experimentation or perhaps you'll find interesting, personal connections amongst the characters journeys. I really hope to trigger a musical involvement with the listeners and a passion to go out and create something of your own. Just have fun with it.
This documentary will continue indefinitely for the foreseeable future. (Literally, I have my recorder on me 24/7. I don't miss a beat.)
